Sports Kiss Rebreather

Looking for infomation regarding depth of the sports kiss.

I already know that it as been given a rating of 50m and the scubber is rated for two and a half hours which as the potential to fade quickly due to the design.
i have spoken via email with kim in Canada regarding the depth issue trying to find out apart from the cyclinder size, (which is the same as the classic kiss 2lt)is there any other reason why it can't go deeper than the 50m they have given it. The reply was if you go deeper than 50m get the classic kiss which didn't answer the question.
In the review by Steve millard on the unit, he says that there is no reason why it can't be used to the same depth as the classic kiss.
I know there isn't enough bail out in the 2lt cyclinders for deeper dives, but i'm just trying to find out if any one knows of any reason other than the cyclinder size which prevents it being taken deeper that 50m.

In the Dive review, it said that the depth was limited because of the speed of breakthrough when it happened.

Not really sure how to interpret that, other than it is very quick and the normal emergency procedures may not work as well.

Caveat - I'm a total RB n00b.

There is a very good tear down of the Travel KISS (or Sport KISS as it is now) at www.tmishop.com

Not sure I like the idea of a flexible scrubber though.

Sports KISS

Having just spent 14 days diving with Gordon and Kim in PNG and trying the Sports Kiss for myself I can assure you that it doesn't have a flexible scrubber!
It is however, very nice and with the planned improvements of:
new displays
quick connects on the breathing loop
possible HUD
it will be a very popular unit.

Yep, it was the early prototypes that had a flexible scrubber, tis a plastic jobby now. Is there a major size/cost difference? In the pics it doesn't look that much smaller. I do hope they do well with it though, they deserve to.

Bit cheaper & bit lighter than the classic
The main difference though is in the ease of use.
You can pretty much strip the entire thing down with no tools at all.
I believe the cost is ~ US$3900 including tanks, wing, etc ie ready to dive
They won't ship the whole thing to you though as they now insist on training - so the O2 dosage device is shipped to your instructor (or referer).

Still should have a BSAC course set up sometime next year for both the Classic and Sports so the price of the courses could come down ......
