Kiss questions

Ok before I decide if I really want to build my own rebreather! I have a few questions concerning the KISS/ KISS training.

1) does anyone know of anwhere I can do a "Try Dive" on a KISS in the UK?
2) due to last thursdays job news (the're closing us down) I'm going to find myself with some spare time in Feb. So are there instructors out there who will lend/hire me a KISS as part of the course? or is there another way to do it?

Cheers in advance for any help

Simon A

Two obvious options;

Dave Thompson (Bournemouth) or Martin Robson (runnymede). Both can do what you want, call them!

john,
cheers for the offer I may well come begging.
I also want to "trydive" a Gordon Smith KISS.
Hmm the one on ebay appears to be local and within my price range! (but a little expensive for a trydive!!! LOL)

=====edit=====
Martins actualy fairly close to where I live, so i've dropped him a mail.

Mark,
Cheers for the offer, I'm based in Reading (shame Kieths has been withdrawn from sale!) so Cardiff is doable.

Simon, if you're organising a try dive with a KISS instructor I'd like to give it a go, should be able to do 2 or 3 dives in a day, so get a gig together maybe? It'd be nice if we could do it somewhere a bit more interesting than a Stoney day, but I get the feeling it'll be there or somewhere similar.

Keep me posted. You've got my number.

KISS Try Dives

Did you guys ever get a try dive?
If not we had the units (Classic & Sports) at the NEC and will have them at LIDS as well. Hopefully both in the pool this time.
I know it isn't the same as a "proper" dive but still better than nothing ...

Andy,
I managed to get a chance to crawl all over the KISS and Sports Kiss at the NEC, I've found somewhere localy that does try dives on the Kiss but I am waiting for the next date they have organised (the last date was the wifes Birthday!)
How are BSAC getting on with writing the KISS training course?

Writing it at the moment ... gives me something to do over Xmas.
Got the necessary photos in PNG so just a few things to sort out now - then the issue of approval ;-)

It looks like I will have one available for use in the pool at LIDS and will be very happy if we can release the course at the same time .... can't guarantee anything yet though.
