| Oh No! They've gone legit!!! I've just had this from Jetsam: "As training is a requirement now, we ship/deliver the units to our customers and send the manual add valve to the instructor." Prepare to add £500 to your KISS!!! Build your own!!!! By Jerome's parts!!!

| 'tis a sad day indeed! must be something to do with getting CE certs for the new SportsKISS, or else Gordon's insurers are starting to get twitchy - as his user base increases the dice get rolled more often. |

| : ((((((((( cannot believe that !!!!!!! I knew a lot of french cave divers who wanted to buy one, but those guys don't have any certifications SO they will have to do the openwaterPADI+TDInitrox+IANTDadvncedeepair+TDItrim ix before doing IANTD introair RB ?????????????????? Thanks god the STDE guys producing the SCR EDO04 are not asking yet for certifications |

| I have a doubt Stu, is the certification needed for the SportKiss and Kiss or just for the SportKiss ? |
| ||||
| Do they have a full list of instructors, or do you just have to supply a second name & address when ordering. . ?

| I'm sure that registered KISS users can still buy spares, so get your KISS shipped over sans valve and get a friendly owner to 'lose' their recently acquired spare O2 valve.... But seriously folks - you do need some form of education in the use of an RB. Short-cutting the formal training route may work for those with the right balance of inquisitive nature, technical competence and self preservation instinct but if you're going to appeal to a wider market then you need to provide some level of instruction and (more importantly) assessment. Knowing the KISS instructors for the UK I'm pretty sure that if someone with the right experience spoke to them, they would provide a course tailored to an appropriate level without a nanny-state requirement to have all the right stickers in log books. |

| A few months ago I decided to buy a KISS and made an enquiry. I never went through with it as STDE were building me something just as good which I could modify. I guess the batch is now ready to ship and they have spares so Mark from Jetsam got in touch to see if I was still interested. As I originally was interested in the proper KISS I don't know what the situation is with the Sport KISS. I don't see why it should be different. Zak... you are now officially my best mate!!! And I have to agree, Jerome, it's a crazy situation. I can go out and buy a full set of OC trimix kit and no-one will ask for a certification. I can buy a car without a licence too and do a hell of a lot more damage. In some parts of the world I can buy a gun legally if I can spell my name right. It's my responsibility to get trained for whatever I buy, not the seller. It has certainly put me off. I liked Gordon's style when he started out, I get the feeling this comes from lawyers/insurers and other assorted scum.
