| Having been a KISS owner for a whopping five days, I must admit I prefer the nut spinner/jubilee clip combo. If nothing else it discourages me from fannying around unnecessarily with bits that don't need fannied about with pre-dive as I am struggling with a pathological need to fettle things (which is very frustrating with the KISS as it doesn't needmuch fettling). I've had various types of quick connect on the loop of my homebuilds and can't say it added much and completely buggered me when I lost an o-ring from one (ahhhh... yet another use for inner tubing). Suppose I'm even tighter than Zak though! One thing that takes a bit of getting used to is how quiet the DSV flapper valves are... I'm used to the Draeger thunk-thunk. More of a slapper than a flapper

BTW Robert - have you got the revised DSV block with the larger elliptical mouthpiece? AIUI that was one of the limiting factors for WOB. Never had an issue with WOB myself tho, except when trying to breathe through a couple of inches of wet lime.... Last edited by The Purist : 21-06-05 at 09:22 AM. |
