Name for my KISS please

OK guys, looks like I have done a deal on Unit #21.

Couple of things, I need a name for her. She is female, clearly, because someone else has been all over her and it makes me jealous.

Anyhow, she's a bit of an old bird, but hopefully trusty and faithful, with a hint of danger. So names welcome.

There is a rather large section down the back asking for a name to get plastered across, but if we can avoid any confusion by having a girls name straight across the back, just so it doesn't look like I've borrowed a girl's RB.

So far the only thing that occurs is SWMBO. Simple, and a bit of an in joke too. Works for me, and I can stick Digger on it too, so I can get harassed at dive sites by more YDers!!! I love it really.

Anyone that's curious about the unit it's the other way round to modern KISSes, O2 on the left, it's got the Sherwood reg OC/CC DSV, stainless portland counterlung case, pretty much everything else as per normal. Oh, and it's got the stainless KISS valve, none of that plastic shite.

If anyone hasn't bought anything from one of the grand clearout sales, now is the time.

Decent write-up on the thing when I've worked out how it works. Proabably pretty similar to the hombuild, but we'll see. All exited now, I get to pick it up tomorrow, just after emptying every bank account I have!!!

I've called mine the "Bastard" for a while, was letting water in, which was causing a worrying gurgling during deco. Turned out to be the apeks opv in the end, held pressure checks fine just wouldn't keep the bleeding water oot.

Give in to the budget, and common sense. Get a KISS. All the cool kids have got them.

We did name one of my units Christina after a particularly unhinged girlfriend, but the unit turned out to be almost as dangerous as her.

So far there's only been a couple of dodgy moments, largely relating to dodgy equipment, but as was said so eloquently "some people make up for shit skills with good equipment. Digger has shit equipment..." I gues I'm just lucky.

As for tempting fate, bring it on! I've been doing it for years. Morbid sense of humour always good for a laugh.

I've got a few mods I'm making to mine. Nothing dramatic, but I need to get rid of the crappy swagelock hose on the dil side that routes through the counterlung case as it's restricting the counterlung a bit. Ideally I'd like a bigger counterlung case as well, as the 2 x 4 litre counterlungs only gives you around 6 litres in total. And I have seven litre lungs

But that's it for the moment. KISSes have plenty of room for fettling. So people fettle. And then they change them back again. Gordon does know his onions.
