If you want a less stylish solution I can probably dig out the lead solder that came with my KISS. It's somewhere in the loft though. Janos

| Check out rebreatherworld. I placed some pics. of some stainless ring weights which could be used as hose weights. I even left the specs. Available from McMaster Carr. Look under KISS gallery. That lead weight that comes with the KISS stinks! |

I use the lead coil supplied by jetsam.. just covered each ring with a tube of shrink wrap, so the lead is a bit more protected from seawater and any corrosion does not rub off so easily on my fingers... Anke

| Anke, You just need to stretch the hoses as you're fitting the weight. I use one set, plus I velcro the loop down to the harness at the shoulders which saves that big loop of hose that catches currents nicely.

where do you guys mount the lead on the hoses, its the one thing i've been thinking about but not done anything about yet. I find the mouthpiece does push up but its not too uncomfortable, how much lead is required to make the mouthpiece neutral? |

| I moved mine up and down a bit. They are now about three inches from the DSV. The mouthpiece is still bouyant though. When I bail off it floats waaay above my head. Janos

| Mine are about mid way down the hose. With the velcro loops, if I bail off, the mouthpiece floats in front of my face.

If I can find the box I see if I still have some of the right gauge I can let you have. Quote:
I drilled a couple of holes in the top side edge (where the manifold would sit) of the CL case and use bungee straps to hold the loop down. The loop is still a pain in current situations, but I don't think I would like to have it firmly strapped to the harness.. Zak, does that not restrict head movement too much???
