New Sport KISS?

Anybody heard about the new sport KISS?? theres a bit on the DEMA site under jetsam saying there bring a new smaller version out ??

no way I like my electronics I want the evolution upgade (the electronics not the tiny scrubber and cylinders)

See that's exactly what puts me off it, less gas and less scrubber, still you could buy just the new electronics (ie new lid) and a scrubber housing then pull the old bits off the old shell and integrate the two. I've had mine pulled out of the shell and mounted on a backplate, it's a pain though taking the small manifold out but it's handy if you want to carry bailout gas on the back and sides it's heavy work though

well the electronics will come as an upgrade and a bigger - than YBOD scrubber is coming too when is the question though

Yes, thats what I don't understand about the current vogue for sport 'breathers. Smaller, less duration and about twice the price of the larger units!

yep but then the new inspiration is probably more than the evolution - when they come out - then of course theres a 10 year waiting list

I agree totally. It's likely they're aimed at a market for divers that wouldn't normally get into rebreathers, i.e. many recreational divers. The newer units aren't really designed for deeper stuff or long scrubber duration. They are smaller and lighter therefore it might encourage more women into rebreather diving which would be great. They are certainly going to be fantastic for people who do lots of dive hols or shallow UK stuff.

Erm, I thought the point of a sport 'breather was that its smaller. That thing is HUGE !!!!!
