Wink The Rez, Friday 28th October

Hi there, I've organised a dive trip to The Rez for this coming friday. There's three of us going so far, who can get the time off work! I should like to encourage other's to come so I'm tendering it out on the forum. Information on the site is available at www.therezuk.net We will be arriving around 10 am, sign in and complete a briefing with the owner Martin Spooner and then get into the water for around 11am. Two hour sessions are 12.50, you'll need to be dry suit trained, haveing comleted at least five dry dives. In addition to your dive gear you'll also require a full air cylinder as there are no air fill facilities on site. The Rez is located near Leek in Staffordshire. You will be diving in an enclosed over head environment, it will be dark so bring a torch. The site is accesible to recreational diver's of all levels, and lends itself well to the training of cave divers. There is a cavity space of 50cm maintained throughout the whole site and the depth in the gin clear water will not exceed 2.5m. As we'll be diving around halloween, it would be fun if we themed our dive on that basis, so bring something spooky! If your interested then please email me at chris.bentley@mgocspares.co.uk or ring me on 07809076248.

Gin clear!
Either you were diving in a different part to me, or you are putting the wrong stuff in your gin! :-)

Cool

'I stand corrected, said the man in the orthepedic shoes!' Blondie and Monkey you were wrong about the vis. We turned up on Friday to a giant poool of evian! With a powerful torch you could have cast a beam right to the other side such was the clarity of the water that day.

I spoke to Martin, a week before travelling up there and asked him to lay something halloweeny on. He'd really come up trumps, after briefing Jason and Lee he handed us a burnt old, tea stained scroll. When we got into the water we followed a trail, which added an extra dimension to the site. We turned off all of our lights and navigated by feeling around the walls. It was great fun, we all spent well over the hour in there.

We ate in the Wallgrange cafe for lunch and had some lovely food (fresh flapjack was bloody good). We should go again, so spread the word!
