mentoring at wraysbury

If there is anyone interested, GLOC and I are looking at mentoring a couple of people this year. I've enjoyed this in the past, and it works well for us, as the Tech2 training is just punishing and the Ocean diving we do together, so this gives us some time with other divers (theres only so many times I can stand GLOC having a go at me for being 10 centimetres out on a bloody stop), and we always learn from diving with new people. Hopefully, this will give us the chance to pass on a little information too.

In terms of level, this is not instruction, so we are looking for people who want to develop core skills such as buoyancy / trim etc, or have specific things they want to work on, such as specific fin kicks / smb work etc. We will provide some guidance and advice, and a dive whenever you want to check on progress. We're not going to get into full on instruction, as we are not qualified to do so, so please - no more private messages like last year's "Kan u Teech me to deko dive pls?", but we can hopefully pass on some of the core stuff. We can also discuss and advise on what professional options we would suggest for your own development.

Additionally, this is not going to be hard-sell DIR. We don't care what kit you use, or what agency you train with. We'll also reocmmend training from any agency if we think it appropriate. Obviously, if you have an interest in DIR you are going to have more questions to ask, and will see what it's all about, but I think that's fair enough.

Now, we'll work with you, so you don't have to commit to anything. We'll be at Wraysbury regularly, alone and together, so we can just work around whatever you want. This might be one session, or a season's mentoring - whatever. This has come about because of Wraysbury starting to open regularly on evenings and because GLOC and I are looking at being there pretty reguarly this year, and at weekends, becuase of our plan to take GUE Tech2 in September.

Anyway, anyone interested, just drop me a pm to discuss what you want to do. In the past, both parties have got a lot of out of this, as there's always something new to learn form each other.

I told you that was a private email!!

In all seriousness, starting on 31 March I am moving to Farnborough so I will only be 35 minutes away so can make Wraysbury fairly regularily just let us know what you want and we will see what we can do.

Regards

Son, you're going to have to make up your mind about growing up and becoming aircrew. You can't do both.

The aircraft limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular aircraft. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no limits.

I probably should have said summer as that's when we get the long days and dry grass
