Yes indeed A very pleasant day & evening at Wraysbury

I didn’t get there quite as soon as planned as I had the wonderful Scuttler round sorting me out, yet again, so I missed getting in with Si and Helen on their 1st dive. However, Anna was already there and soon a bright yellow YD polo shirted chap appeared and introduced himself at Nomis.

Nomis could stand for so many exciting things but I now submit that it should now represent The Deity of Crotch Straps. What a way to start ! I’d got my stages in the water, Anna was round the back and I was getting into my twins. Sailorbuoy had tightened my crotch strap last week and I had already loosened it as it pulled the waist band down but there I was swinging away and there was no sign of it.
Nomis kindly got down and found the strap for me but there was no way I could get it to reach ( I expect this was due to my now using the middle hole of my backplate as previously discussed with Fin) So now, basically alone, I needed to enlist the assistance of Nomis and he graciously got down on his knees and adjusted my crotch strap. Goodness knows how that must have looked !! Thanks Nomis, nice to meet you

So, all sorted, stages on while making “I’m reversing” noises to Big Si, then off for a practise on the container and wee bimble. Left stage off and on okay without any great rising or dropping – bloody heavy these ali7s! Some shut downs and Anna patiently waiting and then to the bus, as Si’s post, then the platform where Anna had a bit of ear trouble but decided to give me the cut-throat sign for it. No worries as I can tell when someone is breathing and she swiftly followed it by wiggling a finger at her ear
Nice satisfying dive comfortably diving with 2 stages and, even as a four, we didn’t lose anyone Ice creams all round courtesy of Big si, Thanks

Arthur filled one cylinder of my twins so I could get 2 more dive and low enough on air for a buoyancy check but the twins in the trolley fell over and the handle landed on my left foot. My God! That hurt. Lots more YDers arrived, Uwila, Dry Suit Diver, Esprit Diver, Fin, Dude, Ian Dennis, RichieG …. and the day became even brighter. So off back in with DSD and Fin for a fun-filled dive. Diving with Fin is fun and not dissimilar to diving with Copperband as he likes to find places to hide from you and he does it very well. Still feeling a bit overweighted but with an OMS 100lber this posed very little problems

We set off with me, apparently, leading but Fin just goes off and overtook us on the way to the hole so I knew he was ok and concentrated on DSD. By now I had pretty much accepted Fin was around somewhere, and, like a puppy, would always come back
So, hole, then back to bus. I decided to look at the top of the bus as I’d already done it on the 1st dive and never looked at the top. Fin decided to hang about 1m under the surface with no reg/mouthpiece in but looked perfectly content and I wondered what he was up to now Then he did a cut throat signal and I figured I’d better give him my reg - I'm generous like that. Quite a day for all these out of air signals

Bored of bus now we set off toward nothing and DSD navigated us back via the Christmas tree

More YDers had arrived including Juz and Digger and I managed to find Rob and Ferrets with his mate Mark. Lovely hugs, chats, food and drink and off for another dive with DSD to get the air down and check buoyancy. We found the traffic lights and passed Venus returning from the boat on it’s bow where we hung for a bit then surfaced. More weight checks at ramp and dropped 1.5 kg

A good day for testing kit and practising skills and a fabulous day for meeting up and chatting with YDers. Pavel kept trying to get me in his car and back in the ‘hut’ stuffing their faces we had Venus, Anna, Juz, Dude, DSD, Ian Dennis with Ian & Sam, Digs and Esprit diver. Dude was very naughty and didn’t eat all my kidney beans and Digs left without saying goodbye to me However, Juz was most entertaining and before I knew it I was in the lotus position on a chair and Anna was on the floor with her foot in her mouth – I think she was doing an impression of Lostdiver

So many great mates and YDers I’m sure I’ll miss someone but it was a fab day and evening so I don’t care that Scubee, HD and Scuttler decided to wreck the thread

Thanks to all for dives, help, coffees, ice cream and sympathy for my foot

Format resumed. Not fussed if you want to change colours of the headings but it does not serve to have those bits people input/edit (names & times) coloured as it just complicates it, is a pain to maintain from differing pcs and will cause the list to need re-posting more often

Good to see you're coming along next week Scuttler although I doubt I can dive next week but will try to come along

You need some patience to sit there doing that and it's very pretty

However, if anyone uses that as the ongoing list I shan't be the one tidying it up so it can be read or when someone boo-boos
