I've dived there solo a number of times. It's ok until you reach the far end when it tends to get gloomy, that's when I tend to turn around and scuttle back like a wimp Swanage pier is great because normally it's off the boat and under the pier to use up the last of your gas only problem is the stairs. Have seen a few people slip over whilst going down the steps (including once my buddy)
