Anyone fancy Horsea Sunday 20th April?

I am thinking of bagging two/three dives in Horsea next Sunday but I'm short of a buddy - anyone else down that neck of the woods looking for a dive?

I'm also up for anything offshore between Portland and Eastbourne, weather permitting.

James

You may want to check if its still open, the Navy were going to sale it for the new Pompey football ground. Part of the deal was to save the bottom part for the Navy only no public allowed, it was due to close last week.

The last I heard (a week or so ago) they were keeping Horsea open to the public but security restrictions have been tightened. Photo IDs will be required and you will be escorted around the site. The Deepwater building is off-limits but there are still toilets and showers, although not quite so salubrious.

Definitely worth giving them a call before turning up.

Hi Matt, thanks for the heads-up

I was there three weeks ago and everything seemed as it always was (no ID required at the front gate as long as you check into the dive portacabin and get a pass; no escort from gatehouse or any part; Deepwater building was still open) apart from the petition to prevent the sale.

Any confirmation that these changes are in place from someone who has been there in the past couple of weeks?

Ignore me, trying to read this on an iPhone and didn't see Scubatramp's post

I'll take into account what was in Karen's email.

Any this moment of need it is important for us to show support for Horsea - so who's coming down for the dive then

James
