OKay Dokey I' know I've asked before, but any YD'ers on the trip? It would be rather nice to share the Jacuzzi with other.. er... well... people of like mind (strange sense of humour :o )

I suspect a school have hijacked all the other places, so I will get told off for talking about oxygen tanks, goggles and flippers. I bet they even nick the ping pong ball from my snorkel

But I don't care - I will talk to anyone, share a beer with anyone as long as they chill out and enjoy the trip as much as I intend to

Hi folks....

Just sorting out my email... after spending an AWESOME week on the Hurricane

The boat does have a Jacuzzi...though was too hot for me on the top deck....

Sonia (SP?), the dive guide is excellent and the crew cannot do enough to help....

oh yes, we also saw a Whale Shark and a few thresher/hammerheads.... did i mention the whale shark???.....

When I feel a little more human, I'll post some more about it!

BTW, if you are feeling brave, ask Sam (the guy who looks after the accomadation and food) for a chilli and Cheese omelete for breckfast..... Hmmm very nice, my fav....

Thanks Neil that would be really good, there was some negative stuff posted over on the other side when she first went out, was there anything bad about the boat / cabins etc. Just tell use everything.

How much was the Nitrox & the beer!!!

Fiona...bathroom...er.. left to Blokes idea of cleanliness (Seat left up, loo flushed on last day, empty loo roll, soap left on floor of shower, towel left in corner getting a bit smelly,stubble left in sink after a shave... strange, lingering smell of......)

or girlie standard (everything neat and tidy, towels folded and on rack, shower gel bottle wiped clean, neat little fold on end of the loo roll and everything smellin' nice...)

The only downside i noticed, was I thought that the top salon area got a little warm with everyone in there.. There is a load of drink making kit that gives off some heat and that doesnt help. However in the salon, they have an ice maker ( oh yes ) and a very nice plasma screen telly. Everywhere else on the boat, the AC is very good, and you can control the temp in the cabins......

The cabins were very nice, not bunks, but 2 beds, with tv and dvd player in each. The crew attended to the cabins thoughout the day, and even left a few suprises for the guests - i'm not going to spoil that treat, but it will make you laugh!... (I thought that the crew was excellent). We had a few small problems with a couple of rooms- NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BOAT/CREW and the crew were very quick to respond to help out. The bathrooms were clean but a little small for my tastes... but then I'm not exaclty what you would call small and like a little more room than most....

If you are veggie, or have special dietary requirements, let them know, and they will make sure that you dont go hungry... I don't eat fish, and when they knew that, whenever fish was the main opition, I had my own, personally cooked option. This was done for several members of our group, and this, along with other touches made the trip more enjoyable.

In the price, we got bottled soft drinks, hot drinks and water for free, but you had to pay for canned soft drinks or alcohol.

The dive deck is... welll... HUGE with camera bucket (with a lid) and 2 fresh water showers. the kitting up area can be a little crowded with all divers and assistants present, but that is 25 ish people!! Sonia stages the kitting up, so this doesnt cause any grief. As for charging, there are cubby holes for everyone, with a socket in each on the salon deck.

oh yes, almost forgot (apart from seeing a whale shark ) they have a nitrox package deal.. I paid about 20 quid for a 15l tank for the week, and 60 for a week's gas regardless of what I used. If you are just going to use one or two tanks of nitrox, then paying individually is prolly cheaper, but if you are going to use it for most dives, the package is excellent value for money.

We spent the last night/day in the Amarya (sp??) hotel (on the same site as the Karamahana), and left very chilled and relaxed!

Folks, this is my view and experience, dont flame me if you disagree!
