| Fiona, you might want to look into having it laser cut. I had a couple of discs cut in 5mm for not a lot of money, and they're very accurate and just need a bit of finishing. Might be easier than having them machined on a lathe, I imagine it will take a fair while longer to do, and probably use more material, which will be your cost. And aluminum? Wouldn't stainless be better? OK for fresh water I suppose, but the difference in price will be minimal, and you'll find the stainless resists the day to day abuse better than ali and won't rust if you find yourself in sea water using it for whatever reason. | The large Kent diving one wasn't big enough, I know because Fiona was going to buy mine! They do massive ones, but they're special order stuff, and you'd be paying a premium for it... |

| Large Cave Reels How big diameter spool do you require them? As i am the person who owns & runs DIVING PRODUCTS? If you are going to make your own how are you going to support the centre shaft & carring handle on to the spools. if you want any further information regarding this subject you can contact me on 01227 700015 John www.divingproducts.co.uk |
