| Since you had so much fun with my reel thread, do your worst with this one I am changing my twin 10's for 12's but keeping the hardware from the 10's, I picked up the bands from the dive shop tonight but they could do with a bit of a clean on the inside, I can get the paint off with a scalpel but would be nice to have them a bit cleaner before they go on the new set. Try not to deviate too far. |

| BBQ cleaner works a treat on the boat, so should do the trick nicely on a set of bands. Another wonder we found that works well is fibreglass cleaner.

| White vinegar - slap a load on, let it soak a while then give it a good clean. As you probably don't want to use enough vinegar to be able to fill a container to submerge the bands, then soak some kitchen roll in vinegar and line the inside of the bands with that for a while.

| take them down to your local "car bling" place Fiona and ask them to gold plate them, like they do Lexus badges they'll look fab on white tins
