| Imported post It's an excellent book. Talk to Digger about parts for servicing. What regs do you have?

| Imported post Yep the reg book is very good and worth the money if it allows you to fix a reg in a remote location (dont know who could have been in that situation?) Its not cheap however, but when I ordered it, despite coming from the US it was delivered in 4 days. They also publish some updates which can be downloaded from the website.

| Imported post One thing that's worth doing before you take tools to your own regs is to surf around on ebay and get a dirt-cheap reg you can happily mangle, just so you get a bit of practice. I got one for £30 - unbalanced piston, so dead simple. Appallingly maintained tho - the previous owner had obviously applied grease with a trowel.

| Imported post Yes, I am servicing my diapragm 1st stages. I leave the piston regs. to somebody else to do, and the 1st stages because I haven't found a source for kits yet. It really is VERY easy to service a diaphragm 1st stage. I have access to an ultrasonic cleaner and you can get hold of service kits quite easily. Vance Harlow's book is a must read for anybody considering servicing their own gear. My policy on regs is to leave them alone if they are working well and only pull them apart if they are showing some kind of problem. I have regs that are are several years old and have never been serviced and are still perfect. Bob |

| Imported post I'm with Bob on this one, the only exception is I change the filters every year, the rest is left alone. Andrew

| Imported post <font color='#0000FF'>Hi Bob, my regs are generally OK at the moment also, but my oldest cyklon is starting to give a bit of breathing resistance. Its five years old and has never been serviced. I plan to service the second stage first and see if this clears things up. Andy, is the filter in the first stage? Cheers, Stu.

| Imported post Hi, Yes it is, a quick call to poseidon (based in Alton, Hampshire) will get you the filters, they are generally ok about spares. Brian is leaving tomorrow for Australia, so best be quick. As a note, all Poseidon regs have a very low interstage pressure, if this has gone up it could explain why they are getting heavy to breath. It is easy to check and set up, but you will need the kit to do it with. Andrew
