I hope someone will be able to advise me about a battery problem.

I bought a second-hand Suunto dive computer last year. All working well until the battery ran out last weekend. This last week I have scoured many shops in the great metropolis that is Swansea for a replacement battery of mysterious size
- CR 1/2 AA.

Noone seems to sell it - or has even heard of it! Well meaning shop assistants kept trying to sell me CR2, but that is ever so slightly bigger and doesn't fit.

Can anyone advise on how I can get a CR 1/2 AA? (preferably online as Swansea shops have failed me!)

Thanks guys

I replaced the battery in my Suunto Favor with a Maxell ER3S, a Lithium Thionyl 1/2 AA cell. It's the same battery that's used in Appel Macs. You can buy them from Maplin for about a fiver each. (Search for ER3S)

Replacing it is a piece of piss. Even I managed it.

The electronics are all gel sealed so even if you do cock it up you just a need another battery.

Laters,

Thank you for your help, guys - absolutely fantastic.

A battery is winging its way to me as we speak!

In the meantime, this might be a good opportunity for me to remember how to use a watch and a depth gauge
