Thread failure on Beaver twinset
I have just been speaking to Craig @ Hydroactive in Letchworth..... My Beaver twinset went in for the first 2.5 year test(visual), and I was expecting nothing except a test fee. Well the valve threads have failed where I fit the regs in. Craig is sending the valves back to Beaver to get things sorted, so credit to Craig for sorting so promptly. Craig supplied the twinset in the first place-a good argument for using an LDS. IMO

Does anyone else have this experience of failed valves recently?

I have heard of this before Ian, possibly with Beaver, but can't be certain.

I've just picked up a Faber with a MDE valve that has had to be replaced ironically the guys other bottle brought at the same time passed with just a valve service.

If it's Stoney testing the threads I'm not that sure that they are using the correct thread gauge as the gauge for measuring the allowable tolerances for a scuba thread is sloppier than a standard industrial thread gauge.

That could have been an overblown cylinder or a gorilla wanking a valve in too tight.
