| Imported post Why not mount it high up on the sholder. If you look at the pic below the little red thing to the left of my chin is the bottom of my strobe. The actual flashing bit is slightly above my sholder blade. Even horizontal you should be able to see it but if they cant see my 50W torch they are probably blind any way Cant say as I have ever used it in the water I consider it a surface lost at see thing my self. IMHO People (Apart from dive guides leading groups of divers) who use them on night dives should be hung by the ankle weights untill cured of the desire to do so again. ATB Mark Chase

| Imported post Amen! Some idiot once came into the Stanegarth hold with one of those camera-flash type strobes once, he nearly didn't make it back out alive But the small, blinking ones are actually pretty good for silty-but-not-that-dark conditions, which I seem to find myself in quite often - too light to bother with a torch, but murky enough that increasing your visibility is a good idea. Might look into the shoulder, but it's already crowded with D-rings & backup torches

| Imported post I think mines up on the hose, cant actually remember, I used it at the w/e as well. Check with digger too as he has two head mounted torches and uses a long hose on his inverts. He might be able to tell you if my strobe was visible, I could see it Matt |
