I need to find a firm that puts together custom made battery packs ie the ones for diving , secured in plastic and soldered tabs etc.  I seem to remember a few weeks ago someone posted some links for companies that do these.

Can anyone give me the links again etc, as I can't seem to spot them When i do a search on the forum.

You guessed it i need a new nicad battery pack for my torch

I did a costing for NIMH batteries to replace the ones in my CD tourch and found the saving to be not worth botherting with. I think it was £125 for the ready mde pac fom CD and 110 for the diy self asemble kit including postage etc. I also had problems finding a small length of shrink sleive to wrap the finished battery in. Getting 10m was no problem but 150mm was a bit more of a strugle

I tried Maplins and another battery supplier that I got from Andyp so it wil be interesting to see what the YD masive come up with.

Try Strikalite, it's a guy who used to work on emergency power backup systems, and found out he could make more making and selling custom battery packs.

I got a load of NiMHs from him, but he will make any pack you can specify.

He also knows his batteries and can make reccommendations.

Parahandy,
I have had custom battery packs (tagged cells welded together, capped and shrinkwraped) from Overlander in the past, and they will make up any NiCad/NiMh/Lithium battery pack you want at quite a reasonable price.
However if you just want rechargable cells then 7 day shop cant be beaten.

Thanks everyone for the info on the Battery packs.
I've e mailed a few of the manufacturers that you gave me to see how much they would do one for.  As it happens I checked with the torch manufacturers, and they are quoting £50, not that bad was expecting double that.  I'll see if a get a cheaper price from the others.
