<font color='#F52887'>Went for a little bimble down to Stoney today with Woz, and my computer decided it was time to show me the battery sign. In all fairness it's done 70 dives over 2 years so it's probably about time. So went home to find the manual only problem is I know I have it somewhere but somewhere can include a lot of storage space (ie the whole house as I don't think I would have been stupid enough to throw it out).

So the question is.......

Is the battery on a sunnto Favor Lux S user replacable or is it an off to the LDS gig?

<font color='#810541'>Suunto are pretty good about user manuals, they have a download section on their website so you can download a PDF version.  This link should work:

<font color='#F52887'>argghhhhhhhhhh

thanks for the pointer Aclivity but it looks as though someone may have done a bodge job when creating the Sunnto website as click the correct clicky thingy for a Favor Lux S and it gives you the instruction manual for an octopus II

I shall keep on looking, any more comments gratefully received

Hi Mary,

Because I am in a lazy mood and can't be arsed to check.

Is the Favor Lux S one of the round wrist mounted or console mounted?

I know the companion and solution wrist units can have the batteries replaced by the end user but Suunto do not endorse or recommend it. &nbsp; That said I have changed the battery on both a companion and solution.

On the back of the unit, there is a plastic battery cover that is secured with 1 or 2 screws. &nbsp;I removed that, go a replaceement battery from Maplin, bunged it in and greased the original O ring put it back together.

Jobs a good un.

I worked on the theory it was worth bugger all so if it flooded a week later no big deal. &nbsp;Ironically I flogged the companion on Ebay for £97 3 months later!

So what does the back of the computer look like, &nbsp;if it is in a rubbery protective moulding, you might have to persuade it out

Just found them on the web (ok so I had too know!)

Remove the strap and have a look, &nbsp;I reckon you are in with a chance.

Furthermore

Any use?

Battery Replacement Suunto

Admittedly written for a Solution but exactly the same on a companion and possibly the Favor.

The LS14250 battery is about £4 from Maplin

I replaced the battery on my Suunto Favor. And if I can do it, anyone can.

As Daz says, get the battery from Maplin (seacrh for Lithium Thionyl) and it costs around a fiver. I have a spare knocking around someehere so can get the exact part no. if you can't find it)

If you balls it up the electrics are gel sealed so you just need another battery.

Only problem is you need three hands to hold it altogether as you reassemble the sod. Take your time and get someone to hold stuff for you.

Go for it!

Laters,
&nbsp; &nbsp;Janos

Mary I was getting quoted £40.00 to have my mossy pressure tested and battery replaced.

I decided to risk it and do it myself. Iv done several dives since and its been fine. Cost me £3.75

I always carry a back up time device any way so should it leak Im covered.
