| Imported post Sounds like the lever has been set too high - when you take the cover off, the lever should be no higher than the top of the DV. If it IS, then unscrew the hose, and you'll see the DV has a little allen-key-adjustable bit inside. Turn it till the lever is in the right place.

| Yep, definately the adjustment out. I am not sure how to do it, Dominic seems to know more, but I thought it was a special tool you needed? I know I had mine done in the factory after they buggered it up on several occasions!!?? James

| Imported post If it is a fairly new reg then you find that the second stage valve seat gains a small groove in it and the lever that rests against the diaphram moves up a little. As the lever cannot move, as it is resting against the diaphram, the reg leaks a little. To correct it remove the front of the reg, take out the diaphram and you will see the lever. This is connected to the second stage valve and there is usually an small adjustment nut. Turn the nut anticlockwise a little and put the reg back together. If all else fails or you are not happy adjusting your reg then take it to a professional. HTH

If you're happy to just put it in the right place and then try it out, cranking it round with an allen key will do just fine

| Imported post On an apeks reg, as domanic has said:- 1 disconnect the reg from the low pressure hose. 2 there is an allen head bolt that you can get an allen key to (sorry cant rmember which size) 3 adjust until the lever is level with the top of the reg without the front plate and digphram on. A properly set up apeks reg should not leak at the surface, but if in air you put the venturi switch to + and purge it should go into freeflow. Simon A (edit:- oops mine and domanic's posts crossed) |

| Imported post <font color='#000080'>The Apeks service manual says this for testing: There should be no more than 2mm play in the purge button before you can hear air start to hiss. When adjusting the lever, it should be just below the top of the 2nd stage body. When testing, put the venturi lever to - and hit the purge. It should not freeflow. Then change it to + and press the purge- it should freeflow and stop when you turn the lever back to -. If you want a copy of the service manual, someone's got them online just here

| Imported post It really is fairly easy. Once the hose is off, try turning the seat inside with an allen key a quarter of a turn. Give it a try, if it is worse, try a half a turn the oposite way. I had to adjust a Aqualung Titan last night that had exactly this problem. Unfortunately in this instance it did not resolve and I had to strip it down and replace the rubber seat Oh well it all worked out in the end and incidently the runner seats and O rings are identical to Apeks ones, which was fortunate Daz

| <font color='#348781'>Job done! Not sure about the 2mm before hissing, but it freeflows on '+' and not on '-', so that's alright then! Ended up using a flat heat screwdriver in the LP hose hole, there was no 'allen' bolt head, it worked anyway so i'm happy! Cheers Guys Ian
