Hi
Before you say it - I have done a search first, but only came up with the gasdiving one, which is fine, but if I remember correctly, there are a couple of other descriptions on how to do this (and at least one includes the addition of a shoulder clip). Fletch very kindly faxed me a drawing of how to thread the webbing through the shoulder clip, so am OK there, and Dan very kindly PM'ed me the sites I'd need, but needless to say, I printed out the relevant stuff, deleted them and now can't find what I printed.
I looked at it last night, but the lower slots on my BP are different to the ones shown in the gasdiving pictures - mine are at 45 degrees and 90 degrees, whereas the ones shown are both at 45 (well, ish, but you know what I mean), so wanted to look at a couple more examples first to be sure.
Regards and dive safe.
Martin

Another good one is available here.

Do you have any pictures of your backplate for us to ponder over?

UKRS is good.

I put a couple of pix online showing how the shoulder clip works...

Hi
Embarassingly I did another search after posting and found a thread started by me asking exactly the same thing, so I now have the UKRS one to hand.
Dom - that's just what i needed a photo of how it will look. I had a few problems sourcing a pinch clip with double slots at both ends (most have a double at one and a single at the other), but now I have one, thanks to Fletch and now you I can see how it should look.
Nick - I may take a picture this evening, but as long as it's got 2 slots, I wonder if it's not really an issue - just me trying to put off something that I'd rather get someone else to do for me
I'll thread it tonight and see how it looks - if the angle of the slots causes problems, I'll post back with some pics.
Thanks again
Martin

Another point is that most people use the Buddy clips (as shown in the picture) as the BC style ones you can pick up in most dive shops don't work as they are designed to be sewn in.

Diminic
Do you need to add a weight retainer above the top and below the bottom pinch clip to stop them from sliding/loosening?

I didn't when I used one, no - the Buddy clips hold their position pretty well.

I suppose you could position the clip just under your chest D-ring so it couldn't slide up, if you were feeling paranoid

Thanks
Mine isn't the buudy clip, but a scubapro one instead -I asked my LDS to find me one and they came back with this, although I did email Keith on UKRS and he suggested using the buddy clip. The buddy clip does look substantially more robust than the one I got, but, as long as I don't stand on it, is it an issue worth worrying about, especially as I'm not that paranoid!
Regards
Martin

I tried using a scubapro clip and couldn't get on with it. I'm still trying to find somewhere that sells 2" Buddy clips
