| Breathing Gas Testing Tubes - Sharing the cost??? I am hoping that the YD massive can help our club out a bit and that we can all make some economies of scale. We need to buy some more gas analyser test tubes for CO, CO2, Oil mist and water vapour. We use the “Scotsafe” Kitagawa tubes and they come in at £33.75 for ten tubes for each gas, meaning we need to buy 40 tubes at £135. The problem is they have a shelf life of only 2 years and we are unlikely to need to test the compressors as much as this. We would like to go in with any other clubs or individuals who are in the same position and share the cost equally on a price-per-tube basis. The tubes we require are – 600sp (Carbon Monoxide) 601sp (Carbon Dioxide) 602sp (Oil mist) 603spa (Water Vapour). See the Scotsafe website here - ScotSafe - Kitagawa Gas Detection Tubes. Alternatively, does anyone know of a supplier that can sell us the tubes in lesser quantities? Thanks all, |

Yes, 2 of each will give you two complete sets to test for all four contaminants. (i.e 2 sets of four gas tubes). Anyone else? Ideally would like to keep five for our club so thats 3 sets left. |

| Kitagawa detector tubes Kitagawa and Draeger tubes work in the same manner but have different flow rates and test times. Also they are best used with the correct equipment. I use Kitagawa tubes with a AirCheck HP kit. Draeger tubes can be used with the Accuro hand pump or Aerotest equipment. Phil |

| Hi All, As stated, they kittagawa tubes are slightly different to the Drager. If you need individual tubes for the Kittagawa testing kits then Dennis at Ocean View Diving at Lancing was kind enough to sell them to me individually at a very reasonable price. Give him a call on 01903 767224 or his website Ocean View Diving Great chap to deal with and exceptionally helpful. |
