Repair to Analox Mini ODII Analyser

Whilst trying to replace my battery on my analyser the battery wires came away from the circuit board connection (I wasn't heavy handed with it); therefore I sent it back to Analox for a quotation to repair.

They have come back to me quoting me £60.38 to repair the connection, recalibrate and postage?

My question being does this sound reasonable, if not is there anywhere else I can get it repaired for less?

It's just under a 3rd of retail, doesn't sound that good to me.

Why do they need to recalibrate it, isn't that what the twiddly knob on the side is for?

The battery wires if all they did was break the wire thats a bit ott, if you took the pads off that the wires are attached to then possibly a bit more expensive.

If they soldered the wires back on then Recalibrate??

Is that make sure it works and check the sensor works??

Thats just for the repair not with a new sensor??

You will have to pay post on it to get it back anyway.

If you sent it somewhere else then thats another two lots of postage.

So if I could do it for you it would cost for the postage there and back and it may be worse than just the wires coming off.

Looking back it would have been better if you had asked on here to start with.

Have you seen how small the terminals are, and I haven't a soldering iron that small!
