| I'd support this, with a few caveats. 1. It should be limited to facts only, no speculation etc. 2. It should most certainly be closed and require registration 3. It'd need active moderation 4. It's purpose should be purely accident analysis to allow identification of root cause and allow others to learn from this. This is always an emotive subject, but at the end of the day, if we dont look at why/how mishaps happen, how can we improve "our" safety. /Zak

| I wonder if we should all just be careful not to speculate too much and stick to the facts as we know them. If a loved one wants to access "subscriber only" discussions I imagine they will be able to. Paul

| Facts or objective speculation will both help us to risk assess what we do and learn from real tragic events. The idea gets my vote

| I don't mean for this to sound insensitive and I'm not playing devils advocate, but why a members only area? A separate topic by all means. Any lessons that can be learned should be shared by one and all, and I'm sure the families would agree. Idle gossip should be kept off but facts are facts are facts and could help someone immediately, not a week, a month or 3 months later when a suitable time frame has elapsed. How does one determine a suitable period of time for respect? If someone holds factual information that could benefit a fellow diver, they should feel duty bound to make it available as soon as possible in my opinion.
