The table we use which is for GUIDANCE ONLY and is for survival drysuits indicates 3.5 hours at 4.4C(40F) 8 hours at 10C(50F).

When down the boat in the morning to pick up and bring home my SEA SURVIVAL manual, issed by P & O training..... I will add snippets and a graph.

A survivor has not survived until rescued .

You don’t need to be good at swimming to save lives.

Apparently they dont often find them
Maybe they just tell divers that to encourage them not to get lost... if they said they always found the lost diver really quickly and gave them a free ride home with a cup of tea then people might get lost more! :O)

Any offshore wallahs on here that have been through RGIT or OPITO will tell you the max time you'll live for in the North sea is 3 mins during winter.

There's a good bit of film with British swimming bird with big tats and Duncan Goodhew swimming in 5 deg water, and they don't last two mins!

Scary stuff!

Have a wee look on the old Falklands vids when Sir Galahad went down!
The majority of the survivors had hypo the rest horrendous burns...Irony???

Next slideshow show on the course shows that you need to give the rescue services 1 hour to locate and rescue you!!

You've no real chance other than heart and primal instinct to hang in there!
