Diver Badly Injured at Farne Islands

Hi all
My missus has just told me that her friend who was staying at our Static near the Farnes heard that a diver was badly injured during diving at the Farnes.
Divernet reports some of the news and that he had his legs badly injured by the propellor of the boat he was trying to board from the sea. Apparently the poor guy has now lost both legs, which is very tragic.

Anyone out there know who this person was/is.

Friend of the victim has asked that it isn't discussed further which appears to be taken heed of.

OK, missed all previous threads, but don't want to dwell on the matter, very sad.

A friend of my sisters was there at the time and aided his rescue and recovery. Whilst it's a terrible tragedy it shouldn't be ignored, and needs to be discussed in order that it doesn't happen to others.

I think that once the facts are known they should be published irrespective of who was at fault. I'm sure that in hindsight if this chap had known what was going to happen or could have happened to cause this he would have wanted to know beforehand in order to prevent it.

We are all divers who take risks everytime we dive and lessons need to be learnt to minimise these risks.
