Man dies after warship group dive
A man has died following an organised dive at a sunken Royal Navy warship off the Cornish coast.

The man, aged in his 30s, from Romford, Essex was at the HMS Scylla in Whitsand Bay with ten other divers.

He was rescued on Sunday and taken to Derriford Hospital where he was later declared dead.

A post-mortem examination is due to be held on Monday. Devon and Cornwall Police are making initial inquiries for the Health and Safety Executive.

The man had been diving at the wreck with a partner.

He was rescued and carried to the shore by the dive boat and air-lifted to hospital. His next-of-kin have been informed.

Thousands of divers have visited the Scylla, which was sunk in 2004 to create Britain's first artificial reef.

It is run by the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth.
