Shearwater Electronics for Meg

Hi all- am new here and after much humming/hawing have just placed an order for a Meg

I had planned on ordering the Shearwater Electronics but they've stopped taking orders on those at the moment because of problems on a couple of the units. I didn't get into it on the phone but wondered if any of you guys had details on what the problem was exactly and was it likely to be soluble? (I did manage to establish that APECS3 wasn't likely to be available until 2006.)
