| Hey, Box Users! Just read this months 990 and the review of this piece of kit. Comes in at around $6,500.00 per unit. Here's a picture of it. Can't get the article on-line yet. They must be waiting to upload it on to their site. http://www.990mag.com/mag_page.htm But here's the manufacturer's website with better pics of the breather: http://www.customrebreathers.com/ Any of you bubbleless ones got any further info/input or opinion on it? Also, see these links: http://www.metacut.com/rebreathers/Default.htm

| Imported post The deco computer's a nice touch, but as most insp divers I know use VR3s that's not too much of an issue. What I do like is the fact that all the electronics & batteries are 'off-board' ie in the computers. I had the cabling in the joint box inside the lid fail last year and the unit totally flaked out on me (happily not in the water). It's one of the older units with thousands of hours on it, water got through the potting compound in the end. I'm a big fan of the 7-8hr scrubber but that was made by Cis-Lunar. Be nice if it could be transplanted to the yellow box, but I hear another is being designed/tested even as we speak, hopefully a radial design. Out of interest, when I had the problem I sent the lid & handsets back to AP and they were back, re-potted and serviced within a week. You'd struggle to get that level of service anywhere else. |
