I looked at both methods and came close to flying out and collecting it in person from the factory. That way you could potentially do a quick course out there and bring it back as if you'd flown out with it.

Only thing that stopped me was a diary full of commitments meant I didn't have the time available. Megs hold their value well and the price second hand isn't far off the new price.

hiya,
dunno if it helps, but i used to order skydiving rigs direct from the factory in the us, then fly in and 'test-jump' them. this made them effectivly second hand demo kit by the time i bought it and therefore not subject to sales tax.... was a known loop-hole, might have been closed by now.

I have just ordered a COPIS Meg.

The kit list so far has been:

Meg (Neo CLs)
Shearwater
Shearwater Cable
Pony Bracket (MetalSub) X 2
3L Steel Cylinders (O2 Clean) X 2
RH Valve
DSS RB-40 Wing
Golem BOV
Golem BOV Spares
Spare O2 Cell
Lime (20Kg)
Spares Kit
O2 Calibration Kit
Training
Training Manual
Certs
IP Pressure gauge

Still need a solution for securing the Neo lungs, but I think that's it...

Thats a big spend but looks like a great set up. Do you know Scribley? She dives a very similar Meg but with a shearwater HUD.I've decided on an Apex meg (second hand or new not sure yet), X1, cal kit, spares ect.
Who are you training with?
