| RecuEAN - Shameless plug Hi Guys, You may or may not be interested but a couple of chaps in my dive club have developed this product Home and it is going to market in time for the dive show. Basically its a device that allows the user to get a nitrox mix from back gas to patient via a LP hose should o2 not be available. Take a look if you please. Stuart PS. I have nothing to do with this product, just spreading the word.

| Looks a reasonable idea at a reaonable cost...but why limit themselves to < 40% mix. The higher the concentration of O2 the better and tech divers will likely have at leat 50% on the trip

| An alternative would be to buy a pin index to male DIN adaptor, that way a standard oxygen reg can be used on any bottle. They're about 40quid and no O2 compatability problems. You could even get a bullnose adaptor to use on j's.

| There's more info on the thread I started a while ago. I emailed them asking about the 40% thing (as the article I read said they had used 75%) and have posted my reply on it. I've ordered one. Looking forward to recieving it! Will give a report and some piccies when it arrives! O2 kit from regular cylinder

| Well I for one wouldn't be pumping pure O2 through the thing "316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel in its construction with rubber ‘O’ rings to seal" All they needed to do was clean the metal and use O2 compatible 'o' rings, but it seems their lack of experience has let them down. Using a design and manufacturing company to make the unit has been less than ideal. Some input from a diving company could have steered them around the problem.

| That's exactly what I thought when I saw it. Why scrimp? As show above, an actual O2 kit isn't that much more expensive and oh so much more benifitial. When I first read it I thought they were instructors that had recognised a need. Don't get me wrong, it's a good idea, but they really should have done a bit more research so the unit was O2 clean in the first place, and that's going to put the cost up. |
