Exclamation Diving Related Business Opportunity!!!!

Diving related business opportunity

We are due to purchase a new Dive Support Vessel which will be based on the South West coast. As we are a new business we are currently looking for investors. Obviously divers are our main focus and there will be a large amount of concessions and benefits for people who decide to invest.

A large amount of the business focus will be on the commercial diving market but also deep/ technical/ expedition diving. This does not mean however that standard SCUBA trips will not be facilitated but the configuration is more suitable for the former.

Equipment will include : -

large capacity RIX compressor
12 cylinder air bank
partial pressure and constant flow gas blending equipment
surface supply control panel and umbilicals (within 12 months)
50M deck decompression chamber (DDC)

Full accommodation for 10 passengers and a large amount of deck space make for a perfect platform to dive off. There is also a well equipped and spacious wheelhouse with survey equipment plotters, sounders and both VHF and SSB communications.

Good returns are expected on any investments as well as the aforementioned trip concessions and benefits.

I understand that the above is brief but please contact me either by PM, MSN or e-mail (links on profile) and I will provide my phone number e.t.c for further information. This really is a very good opportunity.

Kind regards

Giles

P.S Please note I have spoken to Jay about this post to seek permission but this business is independant of YD and is not related to it in any way.

Good luck Giles. I do mean it, but the local dive businesses have taken a bit of a hammering recently. Shops going under and boats have changed hands. Like you say, I doubt the sport/rec/tec day charter will help you, it sounds like an expensive boat to maintain. However I know SFA about the commercial/expedition market, so you could have a winner.

Again, good luck,

Adrian

Just a thought - is giving concessions to investors a good idea? It could mean reduced income before you even start making money. A dividend on the profit OTOH would only pay if appropriate.

Giles.
A project of this nature is a great undertaking and I wish you the very best of luck in getting it going. Mixing recreational diving with technical diving and encompassing commercial diving may be a key to future success in this market. I do have a number of questions I hope we can all discuss.

How big is your DSV could it handle for example an “A” frame for say a wet bell or ROV for example. Also on a big vessel have you considered increasing the depth rating of the deco chamber from 50MSW to 100MSW as most of the commercial companies are going this way as the present minimum twin lock size of 54” may be scrapped as they are about to increase the minimum size to 1500mm.

The other option if the vessel is smaller then you need a load of deck space for technical diving and commercial work so have you considered the cheaper transportable two man chambers? 55MSW rated but allow the use of 50/50 He02 for treating a type II bend at 30MSW with Helium rather than 50MSW on air, (the table 6 is the same for Type I bends). Smaller and transportable, used by a number of navies UK US and Aus for non magnetic use in MCM.

This large capacity Rix how big is it? with the 12 cylinder air bank if you are running a big chamber and air divers on umbilical this bank will not be big enough. Also how much oxygen and Nitrox are you planning on storing in addition? both for the divers and enough capacity for the chamber.

You stated the compressor will produce nitrox constant flow, What have you got for the automatic control? And are you using bottled oxygen as the source 02 supply?

Finally cheeky question, do you know anyone in the UK that would have all this equipment in stock are you buying new? are you having it designed from scratch?

Giles, I know SFA about this side of the diving industry, in fact I know the same about any side of the industry but, if you put the same amount of effort and enthusiasm into a project the size of this as you did into advising me on wings/ backplates etc, then you have every chance of making a go of it. All the best mate!

Also, no mention off LARS (launch & recovery system) for commercial divers, what will be in place there?

No mention either of an LP compressor for running air dives and the DDC.

Any cranage, deck capstains, air tuggers or winches?

And mooring arrangements - 3, 4 point with anchors on winches or DMA's?

A hydrualic power-pac for working tools and high output LP for airlifting or bagging?

I would like to know more.

Regards,

A. Berk

erm that may be a no at this stage as there are a few special considerations with the type of vessel we are using but if they prove managable then maybe in the future

Ok Guys

Little bit of a bump post. We are still looking for interested parties, active and silent partners and investors, the vessel can have viewing arranged at almost any time.

Please contact me via PM, e-mail or on 07864 119 783
