It's finally finished! Completely!

Ha ha! I've done it!

The unit is now finally ready to dive (or at least ready for me to start learning how to dive it) and worked a treat this evening.

We set the IP at 10 bar pretty much as a number picked out of the air, and then got to work sitting down watching a bit of telly and setting the swagelok valve. So after a couple of minutes, and John telling me I had to sit there and let it do its thing, it wasn't moving. So we changed the setpoint, and it still wasn't moving. We'd found the magic setting completely by chance! John reckons it was his masterful choice of 10 bar. I reckon it was the decisive way I guessed that we could start with the needle valve closed as it will go and work from there. Either way, it's a winner.

So, tomorrow night she will be baptised, unfotunately she still has no name. We've considered all the suggestions, and so far we don't have a winner. Needs to be something specific to this puppy. But I can't just call her any old name, because I don't want people getting comfused between the name on the box and thinking that's my name at weekends. I have enough trouble with that drysuit with Marie-Anne on it.

So, the grand unveiling will be at Stoney, so you lot can poke at it and see what we've done. Nothing too original, but it does look a lot safer, even if it's not actually any safer, than the original. I'm proud of this one, photos to follow, including hopefully some of the beauty flying through the water!

Roll on the weekend. I can't wait for you lot to see this baby go! I can't wait for her to do her thing!

Digs.

Tom, you were on the money with the Tox Box idea, but it's not right. I want aname that doesn't make it sound liek it's actually going to kill me! For a start I get enough funny looks with some of the idea we've come up with over the last few months, but to stick that on the back is asking for trouble!

Ah, OK. Is there room on the casing for "Digger's foolish sense of optimism"?

Hmmm... I would put it on there, how about FoSOp?

I want a clever name like all the fancy units out there, with their focus groups and marketing budgets. I don't know who came up with Ouroboros mind, it's got to be the only word you can't say more than once before you feel like a total egit. Everyone I know has just started calling it Kevin Gurr's jobbie. Which I think is probably making the rest of the guys who designed and built the thing a bit left out!

"Tsup"

Its Japanese for "a wind that blows good fate".......or it might just be slang for "Tits Up".

Who's to know.....
