Anyone know any dive centres who tolerate homebuilt rebreathers in Cornwall?

Hi Brent
We've met through the Submatix stuff.
I'd try Cornish diving in Falmouth, Steve the owner has been down there over twenty years and and is rebreather friendly. Whilst he might not want 'any old home built' I think when you if you talked to him you might well get a possitive responce. Personal note: I recommend their huge rib (with good ladder) over the hard boat as its got lots of room. We've been down twice in the last four months and they looked after us very well. http://www.cornishdiving.co.uk/

I'm looking at this one now, thanks JK.
Any more suggestions regarding boat/accomodation will be welcomed.

Brent,
I have dived OC at Porthkerrris Divers before.

They are a really good bunch of people there.
I believe they are CCR/SCR friendly.
Try here: http://www.porthkerris.com/

Hopefully I will get to go down there in the summer to do some diving with my new Submatix.

Compared to other charters the diving tends to be limited to the very local sites where they can make a quick buck! OK this is convenient if you're with the family and you want to leave them in the cafe whilst you pop out for half an hours dive but getting there can be time consuming.

One of the alternatives is www.baymarine.co.uk which is berthed at the quayside in Falmouth Harbour near the town centre, National Maritime Museum, beaches & Pendennis Castle. For £30 you get two decent wreck or reef dives of your choice with coffee/tea thrown in after each dive, onboard toilet, shower & diver lift and due to its speed will get you to Porthkerris/Manacles area quicker than you can drive if this is where you choose to go! If you dive more than one day the diver/skipper 'a local boy' will arrange for your cylinders to be filled and secure your equipment overnight so you dont need to move anything. Accommodation is easy to find for all budgets and pubs are plentiful, my favourite being the Chain Locker on the quayside near the boat.

Its not that experience at Porthkerris has been bad its just that its far easier, more comfortable, more adventureous, more enjoyable and a better day has been had elsewhere by all!
