First dive with my MCCR homebuild

I have finally took the plunge and got my MCCR IDA in the wet stuff, OK only to 2 mtrs in a swimming pool for 45 minutes, but Hey! I'm stiil alive I do still have quite a bit to do for the real stuff,eg. some form of bouyancy and minor adjustment to the ADV (Ithink I may have upset the valve with leaving the unit on negative test for too long ) I may also ditch the original Russian case and design an alloy backplate so I can fit larger 5 litre cylinders, thanks to Digger having a clearout. This is something I didn't want to have to do as I quite like the turtle-style cover, but it is getting rather cramped in there now. I also need to incorporate some bailout even though I trust my design, I dont want to upset others too much!!!
I must say thanks to John (Narked@90) for his help as I would still be sitting here thinking "one day I will build my own RB"
So then, who's up for the bottom of Dottie on Sunday? .......Only joking

Thumbs up Congratulations!

Hi Jason,

Nice to see it all put together and functioning after having listened to all your chats with John about how you were gonna prove people wrong and show that it could be done!

So when's the real 'open water' baptism gonna happen?

I agree that keeping the original case does give it that extra bit of kudos and will also draw some odd looks from the un-informed!

Neil

I'm still looking at an MCCR conversion to my Dolph in a few years [or more likely a second hand SCR unit for conversion], well done on the work.
