Talking KISS'd my Dolphin

The past few years I have been reconfiguring my Dolphin and it is now CCR with a pair of the new Apeks TEK3 regs. Recently took it to Cyprus and did 8 dives on the Zenobia. Uses approx 20 to 30 Bar of gas per dive. I have put a few pictures here: SCUBA Diving with scuba2you - click on rebreathers and then the top right image.

Regards,
Chris Bishop

Just something I've always wondered about the SCR->mCCR conversions...

Someone told me once that the rating of the Dolphin scrubber is dependent on the fact that a volume of gas is vented overboard - does this mean that running CCR shortens the scrubber duration and/or makes it easier to overload?

Scrubber duration

Interesting question. The scrubber duration as specified by the Drager engineers is "worst case" using a very high metabolic rate. With different Nitrox gas flow rates of say 5 to 15 Litres per minute, the amount of gas vented may contribute to scrubber duration but I didn't take this into account in any of my calculations.

O2 flow rate

Yeah just in the process of converting mine in pieces at present, however how did you set the O2 flow rate was it at rest, or a little exerted. plus do you have any tips in diving it.

Cheers
Dave
