And then

six month later one has to start all over again.............Pointless.

And anyway when there are bad times you will be glad about those dried Fussilis under the cooker . As Sir Mares once said .....just add water.

Oh..... Is there another way then? I always use two adjustable wrenches, a philips screwdriver and Mr Muscle oven cleaner on our oven.

A good tip.

I have just looked under the cooker and now managed to scub "mushrooms" off the shopping list. Cheers Michael I owe you a beer.

No, no ,no.....

You take the oven into the garden and use the jet washer! Only works on a gas oven of course but it's a lot quicker (and more manly) than stripping it to pieces. If your jet washer has a soap attachment then you can even put degreaser in there and really jet the dirt off.

My house (that I rent here in Oman) is built out of concrete and breeze blocks. In the centre of every bathroom and the kitchen there is a drain. So all we need to do is hose the room down! The hall, being all tiles, is much the same except the water needs squeegeeing out of the front door.

I know landrovers were designed with a hoseable boot....just didn't realise houses were as well

This bit about learning to carve a chicken worries me:

Rehearse with housemates
Why can't you just rehearse with a roast chicken? It'll be a lot less likely to fight back.

Yes.
I don't stop at WANTING to - unlike the cursory wipe-round the other half gives it, I strip the sides off so they can get a soak in the sink.

c) cook a nice meal
Eh? SHE's meant to cook for ME? That would explain why she's the one people are always giving cookbooks to...

Hey, anyone remember that post I stuck up last year about why men don't do the housework..?
