| Ah but your fancy pickups will be too expensive and you can't yet 5 people in a Sprinter. Come on- try harder. You have a budget of 2500 quid. Now there is a test for you. It must be able to: Swallow gear by the ton Tow a RIB Take 5 people Be comfortable on long journeys Have a massive stereo Be used during the week as a normal car Cheap to run and repair Lockable (so no open backs) Not give a toss if it gets shedded up by scummy divers I stil reckon my missus old estate ticks all the above boxes.

| Hello WOZ, Have you considered what happens if you trash your missus car? Would she then want to buy a new shiney one as you have just trashed hers. All the hussle you have to have, after a weekend trip if you forgot to clean all beer cans from car? Regards Pierre

| Zafira. 7 seats for the 3 couple trip for a meal, 5 seats for normal use 3 divers and their gear and camping for 4 weeks, 2 seats for moving house. 46 mpg and holds its value. Don't like 4x4's, cos I can park without running up the pavement. Jim |

Hence my love affair with my big campervan. Hot and bothered after a summers dive? No probs there, then. Off with the gear, down with the blinds, (curtains are SOOOO naff!), and into the shower, followed by a cold beer from the 'fridge. Mildly chilled after a winter dive and a cold RIB ride? No probs there either! Just set the timer so the blown air heating kicks in half an hour before getting back to shore, then it's on with the kettle and the fluffy slippers! Feeling a touch, errr, rampant after wearing all that rubber? Guess what? Yes, it's down with the blinds, (again!), and into the permanently made-up double bed! And if times get hard, on with the cooker, up with the windows, and it's bacon butties and pots of tea at 50/- a throw!

| Well my preference is a trusty old van.. It can take 3 tanks, snaplock containers for wet soggy dive gear. have a nice gas burner set up, for your cup of cha.. and a bed so you dont have to travel far from your dive site and you can catch that first early morning dive. And the best part cost only 500nzd about 200 pounds on a rough estimate. Another 1000 dollars on upgrading and designing.. However it aint going to pull the chicks, just not flash enough But if it does the bed will be there Steve
