| The perfect dive car Right. Whaddaya reckon on the perfect dive car? My missus has an old M reg Ford Scorpio estate (butt ugly) which was dead cheap, is reliable, costs nowt to run, is 12" longer than a Volvo estate, has self-levelling suspension so you can load it to the gunwhales and has a CD changer and a towbar for the RIB. And I don't care if it gets knackered by divers as it only cost 2 and a bit grand for a 45000 mile car. 4X4? My arse. Old Scorpio any day of the week.

| Are pickups popular in the UK ? If not why not? Here in Malta a lot of divers use them! I use a Mitsubishi L200 which when the YD bagers tour where here had to carry a lot of cylinder on the first day

| OK ok ok I admit it a 4 door 'pikey truck' would be ideal. Especially with a hardtop back. But still over 10 grand here for a half decent one. Mind you, the notoriously indestructible Toyota Hilux might be an option too. Drown them, drop caravans on them and set fire to them and they will still go.

Yes. Or maybe an ex-electricity board 4x4 Transit country. Then again, not very good for the daily commute.

| Ask the lot who saw it down in Porthkerris - perfect beast is L200 pickup with hardtop. Keeps the wet & stinky stuff in the back seperate from 5 people in the front. I've managed to get 24 cylinders + 4 of those big gear gulpers in mine with space left over for bags Plus you get the perfect kitting up bench for twins on the tailgate |

| Not really a car, but a mobile home...Anphibious waterhome, at only 1.2 million dollars...IŽll take two. |

| Hello, I think I know why more Maltese divers use pickups as opposed to vans or estates. The clue is dry suit Vs wet suit

| Given the damage vehicles do an ideal dive car is a low environmental impact one. Of course you need to get the kit in so a Smart Car is out. One-third of the energy used in a car's life is its manufacture. So Wozes old Ford is the billy bollocks.... That said, if we could only get biodiesel........ (Yeah I'll take the L200 pls.) Chris (Peug 406 HDi since you ask.. {blue box of death!!!}) BTW Pierre you should smell my drysuit!!
