We had about 5 or 6 metres vis a couple of weeks ago.

The life on the Scylla has really come on since I dived it in April.

This John Dory seems to have made it's home there.
I also found a trigger fish nearer the shore which I really wasn't expecting.

I think I'll wait until next year before I dive the Scylla. Glad the fish are moving in though - all I saw was a solitary purple jellyfish that looked as though it wished it was somewhere else!

I'm continually amazed at the vibrancy of colour around our shores. The Jewel Anenomes found around Cornwall are just fantastic.

Colourful fish

For real results wear a rainbow coloured drysuit, find some cuttlefish and then you will see some colours!

On my very first sea-dive for OW (near the Barbican in Plymouth) I saw a baby cuttlefish. It didn't try to swim away, it just ran through its full range of designs and colours for us! I've never seen anything so amazing, apart from when a pipefish curled itself around my hand and wouldn't let go!

I bet you have a bigger brighter torch than initially? I'm also often amazed at how much colour springs up from a grey/brown patch of rock or whatever when you shine a torch on it - never dive in UK without mine now...

Dave.

Yep, this John Dory (or a similar one ) followed us along the Scylla and part way up a couple of weeks ago - cool fish, I'd not seen one before

I haven't actually got a torch! :o I've been very lucky and have had fine weather for the majority of my dives and haven't really needed one. However, as I intend to venture into deeper and darker waters next year, I might well invest in one!

I have a fluorescent pink snorkel. Makes me easy to spot, apparently, amongst all you black equipment devotees. Now all I need are the fins to match (any recommendations, anyone?)
