Thumbs up

I've got mates on this jump - and they did it for the 50th anni ten years ago too. It's still pretty damned impressive to see that many para's coming out of the sky - especially when you consider the last operational jump by the Para Reg was Suez!

Agreed.

Top this for a quote.

Speaking after landing safely on the heath after Saturday's jump, veteran Harry Herbert, 80, said: "This is a doddle compared to 60 years ago.
"This grass was alight 60 years ago and we had a lot of people trying to shoot us down."

Kids today.

There is a story in the Daily Mail about this, and it also covers the story of the 'flower children' in Holland. Children in the town, have 'adopted' graves of the men who died trying to free them, and have since then, and continue to, tend to their graves.

I was moved to think that such an act takes place in todays society, my repect is freely given to these people. And of course every respect to those who gave their lives, during this and every other war.

This piece sums up the courage of those who took part, it amazes me that they have such a talent for understatement!

Unfortunatly I feel ashamed to live in a country that does so little to honour its war heros.

I have to agree with that as well.

I usually end up having a row/fight at 11:05 every 11th November because of some disrepectful twat.
