All divers are created equal(ised) - it's just that some of us handle the pressure better.

Says it all really.
I'm really upset about this. John Peel played some amazing music on his late night show, playing tracks from groups other DJs wouldn't dare play. He influenced my musical tastes more than any other DJ.
He'll be sadly missed by millions.
Rest in peace.
Ian.
One fin kick beyond.........
Hey, I'm a twenty something guy, and JP was about 80% of the reason I had Radio One as one of my car radio presets!Just mentioned this to a twenty something guy I work with, "whose John Peel", was his reply! Could be an age divider....
Life is like being immersed in water - it feels good, but the longer it lasts, the more wrinkled you get
And what would a twenty something know about music?Originally Posted by jptaylor9

What I'll miss is this kind of thing:
"I was wandering around a market in Malawi a few weeks ago and came accross this old master, it's a delightful 7" on the Khartoum label by Wild Bill Scroggins and the Groove Masters from 1938.
"It's a bit scratchy around the edges but I think it's a doozy ....(then follows six seconds of dead air) ... fades in a bit this one."
He'd then come off the back of it and read the footie results and usually play The Fall.
I'll be playing Teenage Kicks later tonight
Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support group for that. It's called EVERYBODY, and they meet in the pub.
A master of his art
rest in peace John and condolances to his family

Radio One's the Lock-up show tonight was playing lots of Johns favourite music.
It's not an age thing it's a music thing, Matt (15) was listening to it on all of the radios in the house. Brilliant.
Can't really beleive it.
Jules
Living a charmed life
