OK - let's go back and edit that to 'Bethi is right on this occasion. It's probably an accident, and I'm sure it won't happen again'.

Better?

Nope they were Friday night - i.e. the reason that Ian had a little chat to God in his sink and you, Neil and I all looked decidedly pasty on the Saturday

Device of Satan is about right - they taste fab, are easily knocked back, and very more-ish. Dangerous stuff

I vaguely recall doing an excited little clapping dance at the bar as we were ordering them, but I think that that was more to do with the Pimm's

Oh dear. The memories ...

Erm... they also make you violently ill

Dictionary reference

Slippery nipple

From the Greek

'Baileys' meaning slippery, to be slippery and generally slippery, especially if spilt on the floor.

'Sambuca' meaning one who partakes of drinking this is ergo a 'nipple'

Is it any wonder I fell asleep during dinner?

Larger at the bar during the day; single malt for most of the evening; and then you bastards order me these contraptions?

Swines! The lot of you!

Larger what? Or do you perhaps mean 'Lager'?! Consider yourself duly pedanted.

And as I keep trying to tell you these were on FRIDAY. And the reason I am so absolutely certain of that is that I am only too painfully aware of the fact that I was far too ill to go anywhere near the damn things on Saturday night as well

I have to register my protest at the above as it is based on an untruth.

'Bastards' implies that more than one person bought them.

'The lot of you' implies that there was more than one person to blame.

One person ordered them (Helen) One person bought them (Helen) One person did her little 'slippery nipple' drinks order dance (Helen)

I would like to point out the prior to this I was quite happliy juggling (badly) with pepper pots
