I'm not a fan of the Cadbury's ones as they use a lot of artificial sweetener and not a lot of chocolate and I think you can taste it. If you ever go to France, their hot chocolates made with water are sooooo much better than ours, I always try to get a jar of Top Choco when I go.

Mixing the powder with a little milk and then topping it up with real coffee is good too.

But it needs made with real milk though for proper chocolate. I make it with 2 spoons of cocoa powder mixed with a little warm milk to a paste, add 2-3 spoons of hot chocolate and then top off with hot milk. It's a lot sharper, not as sweet, but more chocolatey. On dive trips I make it in a flask with hot coffee rather than milk.

Not many people realise it but hot chocolate was our national drink, far more than coffee. Tea has only been a fairly recent player.
I agree completely about the French hot choccie. It's far more bitter than our stuff - grown-up's hot chocolate! And it's much better for being made with milk.

If you are going to make a hot chocolate then get a longish chocolate bar with bubbles in (a Cadburys Wispa does the trick nicely if you can still buy them) and stick it in the mug of chocolate. Allow to melt for a few seconds then insert into mouth, removing molten goo. Repeat until chin is chocolatey.

No, some of the organic ones are good for hot water, depending on which ones. Even normal Cadbury's you can make with how water and put a splash of milk in (which is what skimmed milk is anyway).

I like Ovaltine but that's malt rather than chocolate, just add hot water - delicious
