If you were a man you would still have had alcohol. Also, it WOULD have been flu - we are SO brave that we make it just seem like a cold to you women, who, I might add, are heartless if the face of such suffering.

Also, the fact that we get flu and women get colds is something I can prove scientifically!

The key reason for this happening is because there is a finite amount of illness in the body. Part of the body affected is the chest. Women (usually) have bigger chests. Ergo, in men the illness has less to spread over and consequently we suffer more!

This fact has been known for centuries and, curiously, is the reason why there are birds called flutits.

well, i htink that i must have upset someone (possibly more than one person), all my presents seemed to have messages attached.

for my far better half (silvafish), i provided a list of items that would be most appreciated (fourth element thermal set (not bothered which), xbox, portable dvd player, plus the usual 'stocking fillers' i.e. shaving gel, new razor, filofax diary inserts). well, needless to say, i got the shaving gel and the diary inserts.

my sister got me a big yellow fish-shaped money box (thinks i spend too much), whilst my parents got myself and silvafish what can only be described as a set of fuedal sticks as seen last on gladiators (do they think we have minor disagreements).

if there are any amateur psychologists willing to interpret the above, please help....

The best christmas present I got is my husband getting a new job - he was made redundant four weeks ago and has been down in the dumps about it. The even better bit was they told him on christmas eve - before the dive shop shut - so I got the goodies I had been coveting - time to play tomorrow!

I got a brand new ZIPPO lighter. Next xmas I may bet the fuel for it.

It's not inconsequential Matt, life must go on. Our "local" cancelled its Boxing Day panto for obvious reasons, it has now been reinstated as a charity event and we will have a raffle and collect clothing, toys etc. Life cannot stop due to tragedy, we just have to adapt and plod on as best we can.
