| For the first time ever - Thank you Mr Brown! I know this is annoying for most but for those of us who are trying our hardest to get on the property ladder the abolishment of stamp duty on houses under £120K is a very nice touch. We reckon it will save us about £1000 out of the whole process! So, for the first time - THANK YOU MR BROWN!! On the other hand, 1p on a pint of beer and 4p on a bottle of wine - give with one hand and take with the other!! Paul

| You can't buy a tent let alone a house for less £120k in the south east. A cynical ploy to get Labour's heartlands behind them for the next election? Surely not!

| wonderful news on the stamp duty unfortunately a month too late for me. it'll be the adjustments they make in the small print that will be the biggest hit to our pockets. There's bound to be something somewhere that'll cost us.

| Can you buy a house nowadays for less than 120k ? Just more bullshit. Pretends to save you money but then you realise he isn't giving anything. He'll get the £1000 from somewhere else. You won't 'save' it at all Andy |

| Sdlt However Stamp Duty Land Tax is now payable for commercial property in disadvantaged areas. Since we are about to close a multi-million pound deal next week I now have a lot of money to find It is not a headline it is in the full report. |

| I bought my house in a regeneration area last year so was stamp duty exempt, it was quite a saving. But you have to wonder how much of a gift the abolition is, it isn't just the SE where you'll struggle to get a house for that.
