Stanstead to Luton - how?
How can I get from Stanstead to Luton by public transport? Want to fly to Hungary via UK using cheapo Ryanair & easyjet airlines but they are from different airports. Is it viable to take a cab?

cab would cost you upwards of £40 I guess. I think there is a bus service that runs between the two. Alternatively there is an hourly bus to cambridge from either airport.

Bit roundabout, but you could take the train into London then back out to Luton.

Or fly in and out of Manchester. Jet2 do a service to Budapest from Manchester. Shouldn't be that much more expensive and less hassle, most of the cheapo airlines use the same terminal.

Or Air Berlin do Lisbon (or Oporto) > Berlin > Budapest

I'll have a look at Jet2, we are going in August but want to go via UK to see friends and family as well. With air Berlin though I have to go via Parma de Mallorca and means overnight stay, this would be OK if I could dive but it's a none dive holiday :-(

Going to look at the bus, £50 for cab is a touch high. Still with all of this it's still cheaper than flying on a regular airline from Porto-Budapest. (€900 versus €420 per person) It's a weird world!

Flights are mental, the weekend before Christmas I flew to Budapest from Manchester and back for less than what I'd pay for car parking in the city centre.

There are no private cabs at Luton AFAIK so if you're coming back the same route and do end up going for a cab make sure you pre-book.

Otherwise your only option from Luton back to Stanstead may be a London Black Cab and they really are ridiculously expensive for that trip.
