Kylie Diagnosed With Breast Cancer



Kylie has cancelled her sell-out tour of Australia following the diagnosis


Kylie Minogue has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The singer, who will be 37 later this month, cancelled her sell-out tour of Australia after the diagnosis, her touring company said.

In a statement, Kylie said: "I was so looking forward to bringing the Showgirl tour to Australian audiences and am sorry to have to disappoint my fans.

"Nevertheless, hopefully all will work out fine and I'll be back with you all again soon.''

Her management said the diagnosis was confirmed this week during a visit to Melbourne.


In a statement, it said: "Whilst at home in Melbourne with her family this week prior to her Australian Showgirl tour, Kylie was diagnosed with early breast cancer.

"She will undergo immediate treatment and consequently her Australian tour will not be able to proceed as planned.''

The singer has already taken the tour around the UK and Europe.

It's sad to hear anyone getting cancer. I hope this brings attention to people that anyone can get it (a couple of years ago Anastacia got breast cancer as well), but also hope it gets people to get their regular check up.

It's very brave of her to go public with it. Obviously they'd have to give some kind of reason for cancelling the tour but many would have made up something else. At least this way her fame draws attention to the subject.

Caught early the prognosis is usually very good so hopefully all will go well for her and the attention on her recovery will provide inspiration for other women struggling with it. My mother had it a few years ago and it was a real scare for us all - every example of someone beating it can only help.

Not really a Kylie fan, but best of luck to her.
